Tottenham, Ontario: A Hidden Gem in Simcoe County
Nestled in the south part of Simcoe County, Tottenham is a small town with a big personality. With a population of just over 5,000 people, it may be easy to overlook this charming community, but those who take the time to explore will be rewarded with a rich history, beautiful scenery, and a vibrant community.
Tottenham is also home to a number of community events and festivals throughout the year including Tottenham Community Week, the Bluegrass Music Festival, Sunday Music in the Park, Tottenham Artisan & Farmer’s Market, Toot n’ Holler and the CRIC Elimination Draw, Dinner and Dance.
For those who love the outdoors, Tottenham is a paradise. The town is surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and sparkling rivers. The nearby Tottenham Conservation Area is a popular spot for hiking, fishing, and picnicking. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and a wide variety of birds. The most special area of Tottenham, however, is the Fairly Village that was installed in the summer of 2020 by local artist, Becky C.
The Tottenham Bluegrass Festival, held every June, is a must-see for music lovers. The town also hosts an annual fall fair, complete with carnival rides, agricultural exhibits, and live entertainment.
Although we may be a small town, we have a lot to offer. My husband and I moved here in 2013 and have not regretted one day. It is a wonderful town in which to raise a family or just live outside of the big city. There are also many lovely locations for outdoor portrait sessions from mid-May to late October.
I would love to have your family come to my home town for a Family Portrait Session this year. Contact me today to book to have your session in our Hidden Gem!
